The system we install
TruLight Permanent Outdoor Lighting
TruLight is a permanent outdoor lighting system that mounts along a home's roofline and can be paired with landscape lighting. Each light combines RGB color LEDs with dedicated warm-white LEDs, so the same system works as everyday architectural lighting and as holiday or event color. Pure Light Systems designs and installs TruLight across Boise and the Treasure Valley.

Dedicated warm white, and why it matters
Each TruLight light has 6 LEDs. Three are RGB LEDs that mix colors. The other three are dedicated warm-white LEDs. Warm white does not have to be built only from red, green and blue.
That matters most on the nights you are not celebrating anything. Warm-white light tends to sit naturally on stone, stucco, painted siding, trim and wood accents. A dedicated white channel makes it practical to run the system as everyday architectural lighting, then switch to color for holidays and events.

What 48V means for a homeowner
TruLight runs on a 48-volt system. According to TruLight, that improves efficiency and reduces the number of power injection points needed on longer runs. TruLight lists runs of up to 300 feet on a single circuit without power injection.
For you, that mostly shows up as fewer power connections to plan around on a long or complicated roofline. Voltage is one engineering choice among several. Layout, mounting and installation quality matter just as much to how a system looks and holds up.
Zones, patterns, schedules and voice control
- Zones: split the house into sections that each run their own color, pattern or effect, such as warm white on the front and color on the garage.
- Patterns and effects: TruLight lists 144+ motion patterns plus a custom pattern builder.
- Timers and sunset scheduling: lights can turn on at sunset and off at a time you choose, every day, without touching the app.
- Voice assistants: TruLight support materials cover Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri.
- Motion sensors: available as optional, separate hardware that can trigger lighting when motion is detected.

How it looks during the day
TruLight mounts in a low-profile aluminum track tucked under the eaves or behind trim, and the lights are designed to blend with the trim when they are off. How much of the track you notice during the day depends on the home: eave depth, trim color and the angle you are viewing from all play a part. We look at those details during the on-site quote and plan placement accordingly.
Roofline and landscape lighting together
TruLight also offers landscape lighting for trees, planting beds, pathways, steps, stonework, entries and patios. We plan roofline and landscape lighting as one exterior design so brightness, placement and color work together. In the TruLight systems we install, landscape lighting is controlled in the same app as the roofline.
Landscape fixtures are different products from roofline lights, so we go over the specific fixtures for your design rather than assuming every roofline feature applies. Read more about landscape lighting.

Can different parts of the house show different colors?
Yes. TruLight supports zones, so different sections of the house can run their own colors, patterns and effects at the same time.
Can TruLight be scheduled?
Yes. Timers can turn the lights on at sunset and off at a time you choose, repeating every day.
Does TruLight work with voice assistants?
